The Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Is In TOWN!!

The Olympic Torch was in our town on it's way to Vancouver...we couldn't miss this opportunity!  So, I loaded up 3 of the 4 kids, and drove up the road to see it come into town.  Here we are waiting...
There was quite a caravan...
This is where Ryan broke out into a chant..."Go Canada Go!!  Go Canada Go!!"  (Although, I must admit...my heart still chants..."Go USA GO!!  Go USA GO!!"  But I am certain I will teach my kids patriatism, of BOTH countries! :)
This truck had music blaring...
Black Eyed Peas..."I Got A Feeling"...

This is the COKE truck...they were handing out bottles of Coke along the route.  I didn't know it until that guy in the front there with the red vest and black hat came up to me and handed me one...THANKS GUY IN THE RED VEST AND BLACK HAT!
These busses and motorhomes were filled with unidentified people...I think the Russian Figure Skaters and Japanese Speed Skaters were in some of them...and various torch runners.  Different people handed out different things...the kids got flags, and stickers, and some fun memorabilia that were passed out.   They were so excited!
Nicki is worried her brother is going to get run over here....Not really...she yanked him by the arm because she spotted the torch...
There he is!
At this point the runner came over and high fived Joey, but then the officers that were running with him told him not to high five anymore...but Joe was stoked!  Notice the red maple leaf gloves...everyone in Canada is wearing them.  Everyone except my kids...I am a bad mom...I didn't spend the $10...
Here is the Coke Zero bottle...we also got some red regular Coke bottles.  They say:  "Designed Exclusively For The Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Relay"
After watching the runner, we headed into town.  We had a celebration site in town, so we went there to watch the torch come to light the cauldron.  We heard various reports of how many people were there...from 15,000 to 25,000...so not sure how many.  But we do know that there were so many people we could not get a good view of it coming in nor or the stage.  The atmosphere was on fire though...so they still had a great time.  We took a ton of pictures...surprise...:)
With ultra zoom and holding my camera in the air...luck helped me catch this shot...the torch has come and is lighting the cauldron...
This is the official cauldron...we took a picture after everyone left, although they already put out the fire.
Here are a couple of the torch carriers...they let the kids hold their torch.
Definately a GREAT experience that none of us will soon forget!
Go CANADA Go!!
GO USA GO!!
